day 1 of so many days 1 — is the tide turning?

No foods called to me today — they must be ganging up on some other lost soul. I found it easy to stick to the meal plan I had crafted, but I’ve been fooled before. One day, two days, maybe even a third, and then everything goes haywire.

I even did old-lady speed intervals at the gym today followed by a 2-minute incline interval. Because of the cold wind outside, I stayed indoors and did level 1 (easy) hill training until I accumulated a grand total of 90 minutes on the treadmill. I sound dedicated, don’t I? Ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha … NOT! I’m the queen of couch potatoes — even after suffering a stoke a couple of years ago.

Fear is a great motivator but can dissipate over time. Here’s hoping that the promise of improved vitality will be enough to push me through Day 2.
